Learning the Healer's Art

Learn the Healer’s Art

October 21, 2009 | Gallery in the Joseph F. Smith Building

What does it mean to learn the Healer’s art? How is it exemplified in the BYU College of Nursing?

Education in Zion and the College of Nursing invite you to experience the fruits of a Zion education, a legacy of learning which emanates love and an unwillingness to leave others behind. Building upon this vision, the program explores the meaning of learning the Healer’s art.  It highlights the important work of the College of Nursing—its students, faculty, and alumni —through the Global Health and Human Diversity course and participation in Operation Continuing Promise on the USNS Comfort, a U.S. Navy hospital ship.

Hear from the College of Nursing students, faculty, and alumni panelists as they share their experiences through music, discussion, and film. Discover how they have combined their scientific training with their legacy of learning the Healer’s art as they have reached out in service and healing. Be inspired by these stories and experiences, and contemplate how you seek to serve others and build up local and global communities.

We invite you to a pre-program tour of the Gallery. The thirty-minute tour will begin at 6:00 pm in the Gallery’s first floor lobby.  Following the program will be a reception in the gallery’s lobby. The gallery will remain open until 9:00 pm for viewing.
