History
The gallery’s founding curator, Dr. C. Terry Warner, now professor emeritus of philosophy, told the stories of our educational pioneers alongside those who continue to carry on our distinctive tradition of faith and learning in the first permanent exhibition, titled Education in Zion, which opened with the gallery in 2008. From 2008 to 2018, more than 250,000 visitors viewed this exhibition that he and his team of talented students researched, designed, and installed.
Current curator Heather M. Seferovich updated and refreshed the permanent exhibition in 2018, and she opened Education for Eternity in January 2019. Education for Eternity retains some of the same content from Warner’s original exhibition, but examines it is through the interpretative themes of the study-experience-revelation cycle and the four aims of a BYU education, which together motivate visitors to savor the sacred aspects of learning in time and eternity.
